Wedding Wellness

Wedding wellness and health have proceeded to grow in popularity as weddings continue to become a bigger and more extravagant event, sometimes filling up an entire weekend with the celebration! Brides on a grand scale, and couples in general, are placing focus on their skin prep and overall health, months in advance of the big day, ensuring they’re exactly where they want to be for their photos, both professional and candid.

The women behind Wellness 360
Wellness 360 opened in 2018 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, with a focus on wellness services ranging from skin to makeup, and saw an uptick in bridal clientele very early on.
“Around 2019, we built up our team of artists, and now we’re the most booked and busiest we’ve been in our seven-year run!” Sydney Hummel, owner and primary manager, said. “Between 2024 and 2025, we’ve grown about 30%.”
By August 2025, Wellness 360 had only completed 52 of their 100 weddings on schedule, meaning the last four months of the year hold half of their business!
“I’d probably say with the trending patterns I’ve experienced, the first six months of the year hold 25% of our bookings, June, July, and August hold another 25%, and the last four months hold half of our bookings,” Sydney listed. “Fall weddings have definitely become front and center in demand.”

When Wellness 360 first started, Sydney focused primarily on makeup services, and while she holds a background in nutrition and micronutrients, it wasn’t until she brought on a few hairstylists and health specialists that their services really expanded into the territories of beauty, health, and wellness. Her once team of one has since grown to 12 varying specialists!
“I’m not a hairstylist, I don’t do hair,” Sydney laughed, “So I had to wait until I brought some hairstylists onto my team before we launched that department, so makeup really carried our business for a while!”
Before Sydney set her focus on bridal services and a bridal-based clientele, she offered specialized services such as lash extensions, various waxing methods, facials, and nutrition-based services, along with her makeup services.
“It’s now been seven years of offering nutrition-based advice and services, waxing, extensions, facials, and makeup, with spray tanning joining the lineup about four years ago,” Sydney listed. “Little by little, we continue to bring in more services and departments to Wellness 360. We’re now offering injectables, micro needling, laser treatment, and very in-depth wedding prep, which includes medical professionals along the process. We also offer full cuts, colors, and extensions for hair services, along with our styling services for anything you might want done on or far before your wedding date.”

There is no shame in asking questions if any of these services sound like a foreign language to you (like they did to me before my illuminating and educational conversation with Sydney)! Sydney and her team are here for ultra-beginners in the skincare and wellness world with kind words, helpful tips, and a course to set you on the proper path for your skin type.
Not a beginner? Know all there is to know about beauty and wellness, and are excited to utilize the amazing services Wellness 360 continues to add to their lineup? Sydney and her team are happy to talk all things beauty and wellness, and the benefits it provides at your first consultation. Sydney and her team are also one of the few bridal wellness businesses that conduct a personal call with their client before requesting any money or a signed contract.
“I think it’s really important to either sit down with our brides in person, or conduct a video call to go over all up-front inquiries, the services they are looking for, and whether or not we will be a good fit for their personality and expectations in our services,” Sydney explained. “We want to make sure we can execute all requests perfectly so that our team is in no way a stressor for them on their big day. I strive for our team to be the least stressful part of their wedding prep.”
There is no requirement to be a bride to use or book these services offered, or even to schedule yourself for a consultation; however, if you are a bride, Sydney has a few pretty amazing discounts and extras offered from the moment the contract is signed to the moment you walk down the aisle.

A fine-tuned process
Most brides book at least six months to a year in advance, and Sydney would even prefer booking earlier for those looking for prep services such as injectables or nutrition changes.
“I’ve always said ‘the earlier the better’ when it comes to booking our services because we want to ensure the time it takes to perfect those results,” Sydney said. “For example, I love when we have brides booking a year or more in advance. It gives us that time to get to know them, their skin, their pre-established skincare, and what they’re looking for in services from us.”
While Sydney prefers and highly encourages booking as far in advance as possible, she and her team do still take on last-minute appointments if their schedule allows for the time.
“If we can accommodate them, we’ll definitely still book reservations with only two or three months out from their wedding, we just won’t be able to fulfill some of those pre-trials and prep-services,” she shared. “For our injectable services or nutrition adjustments, we require booking four to six months in advance so that these services receive the time they need to develop to their full results.”

Sydney and her team typically travel at a 3-hour radius from their home base of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, venturing to the Fox Valley areas, to Stevens Point, to Door County; they are happy to drive a majority of central and southern Wisconsin, and while they haven’t yet traveled much to the northern half, they’re happy to include it. For those who’ve moved from Wisconsin or are looking for a destination wedding, Wellness 360 is happy to provide a makeup artist, hairstylist, or both for only the cost of their basic travel, stay, and meals. No charge for any service requested will be applied.
“I have a very fine-tuned process,” Sydney said seriously. “If I encounter one problem, one time, I will implement new guidelines and steps to ensure we never bump into that issue again. We book a lot of weddings, because my team and I are very thoroughly organized, and we’re very good at our jobs.”
Sydney prefers to conduct most of her communication and meetings through email rather than phone calls so that she has a digital and clear trail of everything she and a client have discussed. When speaking with her clients or brides directly, she is sure to take incredibly detailed notes of everything they decide or talk about.
“When a bride books with Wellness 360, they immediately receive a thank you email for booking our services, as well as a brief explanation of what they can expect from their time booked with us and the extensive list of services we offer,” she explained. “We never want a delay in communication.”
Six months before the big day, another email is sent to all the booked wedding couples, grooms, or brides, to set their dates for pre-trial services, such as injectables or skincare procedures that take a few sessions leading up to the occasion.
“My inbox is insanely organized, it’s kind of a point of pride,” she laughed. Thankfully, just 30 minutes southwest of Green Bay, Wellness 360 has built a name and an extensive lineup of phenomenally effective services for all skin and body type-quality photos.
Like many do for a hair or nail appointment, Sydney and her team greatly appreciate reference photos as to what their clients are looking for when booking their services. These can be sent over via email or shown and discussed in person during the first consultation with Sydney, and if inspiration adjusts, they are happy to modify!

However, AI-generated photos have provided an interesting obstacle to clear in this request, as they have in many professions and services.
“We love when brides and bridesmaids come to their appointment with photos of examples for what they’re looking to get done,” Sydney smiled. “It’s so helpful, and can direct us in setting realistic expectations for our clients if needed. For example, we’ve had a few individuals bring photos as a reference for their makeup, where the person in the photo doesn’t even have the same base skin color or ethnicity as the client, and we have to explain that we won’t be able to achieve that exact look due to those differences.”
“Another hurdle we’ve had to adjust for is the rise in quality of AI-generated photos,” Sydney sighed. “It’s growing more and more difficult to spot what photos are real and which are fake as AI continues to develop, and we’ve had a decent amount of our clients this year provide me with reference photos that don’t have a real human being in the picture and I have to explain we won’t be able to make their makeup look that flawless because it’s not real.”
Sydney encourages her client base to find photos with minimal editing, so they can focus on attainable services that are perfect for their special day.
“I like to ask them what about the photo catches their eye; is it the makeup or the hairstyle, and can we make it work? Or is it the quality of the skin and lack of pores they are trying to achieve? If they’re looking at skin quality, that’s typically when we have to explain it will be impossible to reach that end result, as the ‘person’ in the photo does not have pores or layers of skin.”
Sydney and her team are always receptive and kind to individuals who bring in photos that are AI-generated because she and her staff have to know how to recognize the difference as part of their job. However, not everyone has that radar, and that’s okay! They are patient and happy to explain the importance of real photos for their references, and how others can differentiate between the two.
Complex simplicity
Having a wide variety of services offered with a wide variety of talent on the team provides little room for confusion or miscommunication, as everyone is incredibly professional and personal, creating a very warm, welcoming, and informative experience.
“I have artists on staff who specialize in both hair and makeup, and I have specific hair stylists and specific makeup artists,” Sydney listed. “We try to keep each service around 30-45 minutes, and we always make sure to leave a 30-minute buffer window at the end of our booked time for any last-minute touch-ups or fixes.”

For example, if a bride requests that Sydney and her team finish their services for everyone by 11 AM, Sydney and her team will actually have finished everyone on site by 10:30 AM, leaving an ample window of time to complete any makeup fixes or hair touch-ups before the next step toward the aisle.
“We can do any hair or makeup style one can think of because we have amazingly dedicated artists on staff, even if they decide to switch it up when we arrive,” Sydney assured. “The only real exception to our 30-45 minute services is if a bride is looking for ‘Hollywood curls’, which recently had a moment of popularity, but has since started to slow back down. We prefer to plan for that style in advance since the many layers of curls and the complexity of the style take an hour, sometimes nearly two hours, to complete.”
Hollywood curls refers to Marilyn Monroe’s picture-perfect classic style, or the ever-popular pop Princess Sabrina Carpenter’s style, worn for many performances, including much of her recent Short N’ Sweet tour.
“It’s a stunning hairstyle, I’ve even booked it for myself for a few occasions, but it’s such a complex look to tackle, while appearing so simple from the onlooker's perspective,” she explained. “Since it takes a bit longer, the price range adjusts, and we need to ensure we’ve booked an artist prepared to complete that look in the allotted time.”
Similar to the Hollywood curls' simple appearance, yet complex approach, the au-natural makeup look can sometimes utilize more makeup than other looks, and has grown in popularity due to celebrities and influencers’ weddings and modeling gigs, such as Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie, for example.
“Similar to if one were to book full-glam, the au-natural look still includes foundation, lashes, mascara, light shadow, contouring… We’re still going to use all of those products, just in a little bit of a scaled-down manner,” she listed. “A majority of our brides and bridesmaids for the last few years have booked or requested the au-natural look, with very minimal full-glam bookings. 2023 seems to be where we saw that shift truly take place.”
While many lean toward the natural look when booking makeup services, the juxtaposition of “blush blindness” has recently created a cosmetology takeover, and Sydney is all for it.
“The recent blush blindness trend is my favorite thing,” she grinned. “I don’t think you can ever have too much blush, and if you’re not in love with that trend yet, you simply have to apply some blush to your face, and you’ll fall in love with it like everyone else has. I hope this trend never dies.”
“I’ve noticed so many who used to love those detailed eye shadow looks enthusiastically jumped aboard the blush blindness trend, focusing on their face as a whole to achieve the dewy, smooth, flawless face, rosy pink cheeks, and highlighted skin,” she pondered. “But I think everyone’s goal is to have that dewy, hydrated, and healthy skin, and while that can be achieved with foundation and other makeup products, where we really see that result is through pre-trial skin prep.”

Pre-wedding skin prep, post-wedding relaxation
Many brides booking services with Wellness 360 move forward with their services and book more through the company because of their clear and defined emphasis on skin prep. There are three aestheticians on site, ready to produce amazingly effective results, and happily educate their clients about the benefits and practices they might use.
Sydney recommends a dermaplane session and a hydrafacial to almost all of the brides who book with her due to the numerous benefits for the skin. Dermaplaning treats the deep acne scars by shaving away the top layers of skin and the areas surrounding the scar or pitted skin. It’s very minimally invasive, and many makeup artists, cosmetologists, skincare specialists, and dermatologists will perform this procedure.
“Hydrafacials always leave your skin beautifully glowing and dewy, so even if you’re not booking for your wedding, it can just feel so rejuvenating and restorative to be treated to a hydrafacial,” Sydney smiled. “Dermaplaning is rather inexpensive in the world of skin treatment, and it really boosts the effects of many skin prep sessions. Since we’re removing the dead skin and peach fuzz on the face, it helps push the products and techniques we’re using deeper. We like to recommend a dermaplane session once every six weeks because your skincare will work better and harder, and you will see a more polished end result, leaving the makeup sitting beautifully on your skin.”

With her nutritionist background in education, Sydney knows what to look for in one’s eating habits that might be a trigger for acne, dry, fatigued, or oily skin, and can provide alternatives. She looks at the effects of consuming artificial dyes, sugars, and processed foods on one’s cortisol and nervous system, and how they can become imbalanced.
“If one of our clients is looking for a prescribed meal plan, I would direct them to a dietician, as that’s not what my specialty is,” Sydney explained. “What I look for are certain items like, ‘how is your body responding to dairy or different meats?’, ‘What kinds of processed foods are regularly in your eating schedule?’, or, ‘Are you starting your day off with a high dose of caffeine?’”
“And the acne or breakouts might not even be related to their eating habits! They could also stem from hormonal imbalances, such as one’s ovulation cycle, medications, or stress-induced breakouts. Whatever the reasoning may be, we’re here to find solutions or adjustments to improve your skin and get the results you want.”
About 80% of Wellness 360’s clients take advantage of the skin prep options and offerings on site, according to Sydney. With a wide range of talented artists and educated specialists on staff, the team addresses a wide range of skin types and services, including client concerns and issues.
“It’s very very rare for a bride to book our services in hair and makeup and not come in for any other service,” said Sydney. “Part of the reason they’re booking with us is because they value what that final result is going to look like, and many of those prep services are what bring the best result to both hair and makeup. It’s also just so fun to see our brides numerous times leading up to their wedding day and coming in for a variety of our services; we really build a relationship and repertoire, which can also benefit how we’re approaching their booked services.”
Even if the bride doesn’t have any intention of hyperintensive skin prep, they still come in to utilize the massage services, facials, spray tanning, Botox, and the many other services offered. Some brides will even initiate a group activity, such as booking facials for their bridesmaids, or bringing their newlywed with them for a post-wedding massage, sauna session, or pampering of some kind.
“I love building those relationships with our brides,” she glowed. “We have the most amazing team of women on board; I feel very blessed to have the team we’ve built, and I think our clients feel that too. It’s quite common that many of the brides who have booked with us for their wedding and the prep leading up to the big day continue to visit our establishment and book our services well after the celebration. The trust in our care means so much.”

While the care and personal attention from each staff member certainly create long-lasting clients for the business, the healthy habits and efforts these clients are now educated on and familiar with open a whole new world of self-care they can bring into their day-to-day lives. And if they are already familiar with the staff at Wellness 360, why switch it up?
“Some of our brides will have never gotten a Hydrafacial or a dermaplane before booking with us, and once they’ve tried these various treatments and have seen their skin, energy level, or general quality of life improve, they decide to keep up with the practices or services because they enjoy the benefits.”
Sydney herself definitely keeps up with both beauty and wellness services, as her favorites to book for her own enjoyment, rather frequently, include the Hydrafacial, dermaplane, lash lifting, hair extensions, and spray tan sessions; but she’ll be the first to tell you how much she loves every one of the services offered at Wellness 360 at your first consultation.
