A couple that is currently in their planning process for their big day in June of 2024, have agreed to take time out of their busy schedule to sit down with Gather’s blog writer, Kira Doman to go over just how much they’ve done since booking in August.
Anna Dalton and Nicholas Edinger will be bringing their guests to Gather for a huge and loving party of 225 guests, in just 7 months, to celebrate the unifying of their families, and their party is already almost completely planned!
“We started our booking process in the last week of August, and honestly I’m surprised with how much we’ve already decided on,” Dalton smiled excitedly. “We toured the venue with Jyll and Tommy, and that really helped us land on Gather as our reception venue. The way you could tell that even the owners want your day to be as special as possible just felt like they would really make this process fun and smooth as well. They were really open to customization, and I loved that, especially for our food menu.”
Gather offers 4 wedding tastings a year, available to all wedding bookers that have a ceremony and reception combination, or just their reception planned with Gather. At these tastings, an Airline chicken breast, short-braised ribs, salmon filet, and a vegetarian dish are presented to try, as well as mashed potato sides and a rotating selection of seasonal vegetables, but these are just the entrees!
There are also appetizers passed out an hour before dinner is made available to guests, and desserts after dinner has been set. If attendees stay a bit past dinner and dessert, they also are given a few late-night snack examples Gather can provide for your special day.
“We knew going into the tasting a little bit of what we were looking for, but actually attending the dinner and speaking with Maddy Meyer (Catering Manager) about what we could modify to fit our styles is what really helped us narrow down our menu,” Dalton revealed. “We'll be offering the short-ribs and airline chicken, as well as one of the vegetarian options. For dessert, we knew we wanted mini pie shooters, but Maddy really helped us pull those flavors together. Our wedding is in the summer, so I wanted to be able to customize the pie options a little bit. Our mini pie shooters will be key lime with a graham cracker crust, pecan caramel with a gluten free crust, and a french silk pie with a chocolate cookie crust. I’m super excited for those. For our guests ready to dance the night away with us, we’ll have a late-night nacho-bar set up.”
The customization and collaboration doesn’t stop in the kitchen. Gather also offers a list of many different vendors to select from when it comes to DJs, flowers, decor, transportation, and so much more. The staff is here to help the couples reach their special day with as little hiccups as possible!
“I’ve been so impressed by the communication of everyone we’ve met on the staff,” Dalton beamed. “I’ve reached out to Erin Jacobs (Events Manager) a few times lately, sometimes even on the weekends, and I never expect an answer until the work week has started, but I’ll still receive an answer from Erin on a Saturday! If either my fiance or I have had any questions, the staff has been eager to help us.”
Booking and planning a wedding, as many can deduce, can be a very stressful task. It’s essentially setting up one of the most expensive parties of your lives, with both your family and friends, and your partner’s family and friends, you’re bound to forget a few things during your planning, but with Gather at your side, we’re here to make sure every box is ticked.
“Erin has had really great suggestions to help me through little problems I never thought of, such as how many tables I need, or what I want the layout to look like,” Dalton listed. “They just really helped me with all of the side steps I never knew about. I don't think I ever really realized how much goes into a wedding. Gather helped to provide me with a list of vendors for things I may have forgotten to book or didn't know I needed, such as a shuttle to and from the venue, or which DJs have had smooth sessions; parts of the process I wouldn't think they'd be part of, they've helped me to create a beautiful and special day.”

“We really only have our Save the Dates and invitations to send out, and our hotel blocking left,” Dalton said surprised. “I’m very happily surprised that this seemed to lineup nicer than some of the other weddings I’ve attended. I can’t wait to see how the entire venue is lit up on our special day, I am so excited to see all of it come together. I'm excited for the different light features that they have, the decorations, I really just want to see the room full!”
With each couple, the venue takes on a different appearance, not only making it special for those who are getting married and celebrating, but also for the staff. The customizations to each couple’s wedding makes for an extremely unique and special evening for everyone involved.
